Alex Schmidt has extensive experience in litigation and specializes in the defense of physicians, hospitals, and other medical professionals in medical malpractice actions. Prior to joining Garson and Jakub, Alex served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Tort Litigation section of the New Jersey Division of Law in the Office of Attorney General for the State of New Jersey, where he successfully defended governmental entities and handled all aspects of litigation from inception through arbitration and/or trial. Prior to law school, Alex served in the US Army as a commissioned officer in the Military Police, retiring as a captain. He received his J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law (2016) and his B.A. from Lafayette College (2010). Alex is an active participant in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hudson, Essex, and Union Counties of New Jersey as both a mentor and member of the executive committee.
